To break with my usual ramble of the background to my tune I have decided to talk about one of my favourite meals; Pizza. I will eventually get to my tune, Jiggin’ Around, but for lunch today I made such an incredibly delicious pizza that I thought I should share a little bit about it!
To start with the dough recipe (I will save my relish recipe for another post!)
Crazy Delicious Pizza Dough Recipe That Can’t Go Wrong
2 cups flour (any kind, really don’t stress about this, white tastes best though)
1 tsp dry yeast
1/2 tsp salt and sugar (each, heaped)
1 Tbsp oil (olive is best but sunflower or canola work just as well, you can also leave this out altogether, you probably won’t notice much difference!)
1/2 cup water
Kneed it all together, let it rise at least once. You should have a firm but malleable dough. Put it on an oiled tray or cook it on a pizza stone for about 15 minutes at 200°C with any topping you feel like and lots of cheese!
This makes a fairly large medium base pizza or a wonderfully thick small base pizza. If it is a little too dry add more water, if it is too wet add more flour. This recipe has never failed me even when I have been really loose with quantities! It got me through many meals at university and it is easy to scale up for any number of people.
The thing I love about pizza is that you can do just about anything to it and it will still be fantastic! You feel like something meaty, hell put on a steak. You want vegetarian? No problem, mushrooms, peppers and cheese! Going through a tough month? sprinkle some herbs and you got yourself a foccacia. This meal can come in so many different flavours and types, I think I would class Pizza as being one of the best foods ever!
In food is important to do what you like. You only live once and I’ll be damned if I’m going to go through life eating food that makes me unhappy. Which brings me to music and composing. I love to throw notes together that I think sound good. People may disagree but then I’m not writing for them, I’m writing for me. I’m sharing my music in case someone finds the same degree of enjoyment in it as I do!
Jiggin’ Around started out with me just playing around with a simple note progression that I enjoyed and seeing what fitted. At first I wasn’t sure how to finish it but I eventually settled on the idea of the end going back into the start of the tune again so it can just be an endless repetition.
If you have any thoughts on the tune or just want to get in touch, drop me an email at email@example.com. The sheet music will be available on my sheet music page soon!
Keeping eating and doing what you love!
